Work
Senior Product Designer @Tableau | 2015 - Present
Tableau Design Team:
I provide leadership across company and org wide efforts, including:
Leading a company wide effort to improve our design practice by creating, piloting and rolling out a design process template for teams of designers, PMs and engineers.
Engage local and international Tableau interest groups through talks and presentations focused on our core technologies and design practices.
Co-initiate efforts to increase designers’ productivity across Tableau’s Design Org.
Actively participate at all stages of the hiring pipeline, from candidate review, to interviews and hire recommendations.
Constantly build and maintain relationships with management teams and peers from other orgs across different offices in North America.
Drive ideas to increase morale on the Palo Alto design team.
Ask Data:
Leading design on an awesome team of engineers and designers tasked with broadening Tableau’s reach and reducing the barrier to analytics. Using Natural Language Processing technology, we designed and built a brand new experience called Ask Data.
Tableau Services Manager:
Came in shortly after user research to lead design on a mission critical product. Successfully building Tableau Services Manager meant Tableau could scale its business to bigger enterprise customers. We designed and built a web console that drastically improved the experience for Server Admins, who manage Tableau Server deployments on both Windows and Linux environments.
Tableau Public:
Led designs across multiple features to build and engage Tableau’s community of Data Storytellers.
Vizable:
Came in shortly after a POC was built. I led designs focused on turning innovative research-based insights into a final usable product on an iPad. I convinced the team to achieve our stretch goal of releasing an iPhone app. Our work was recognized as one of the most innovative apps of 2016.
UX Designer & Researcher @GaTech | 2013 - 2015
Aggie2.0 - Social Media Tracking System:
I was part of the research and design team that worked on the redesign of Aggie - a platform that helps organizations track and aggregate escalating issues within a geographical region. This system was specifically used to monitor elections with a goal of bringing transparency to the electoral process.
Product Designer @Schoolzilla | May 2014 - Aug 2016
www.schoolzilla.com & University of California:
Helped the leadership team forge a clear product path through design research and early design explorations.
